Homeless
Kadiatu is in year 2 of Junior High School. She dreams of becoming a nurse in the future, she has a heart full of compassion and loves taking care of sick people.
She had to stop going to school this year because she had an unplanned pregnancy – a baby boy. She thankfully has recently returned to school and excitedly making progress.
Your support helped to ship the school supplies that she received. Thank you so much for bringing light and hope.
Kadiatu has 4 siblings. Kadiatu and her 2 younger siblings live with Mary, her mother. They do not have their own rented place. They were homeless. Now, they are temporarily staying with a family friend. Because of a housing challenge the two older siblings are staying with relatives/friends. Kadiatu’s father is unemployed.
Mary is a food vendor and she sells rice and locally prepared delicious sauces – such as Cassava leaves and groundnut stew. She is finding it very difficult to meet the needs of her kids.
As a team, we at Develop Africa are doing the best we can to encourage Kadiatu to stay focused on advancing her education. We are thankful that we can provide this moral support – during this transition period.
We are sharing this with you to give you an idea of the challenges that our students face as they advance their education.
Mary wishes the very best for Kadiatu and her other children. We are thankful that we together can help create ensure a brighter future for Kadiatu.
